Avoid unexpected trouble: Read the full guide to learn which items are prohibited for air shipping. According to Transport Canada, fines can range from $50,000 to $100,000.

Items Requiring Authorization:

  • Fax machines, phones, or wireless microphones
  • Data network devices like routers and switches
  • Radio, telemetry, or remote-control equipment
  • Satellite communication terminals
  • Wireless data broadcasting equipment
  • SPS and GPS devices
  • Veterinary products

Prohibited from Entry:

  • Medical items such as vaccines, commercial-grade materials, and in-hospital medications
  • Products of animal, agricultural, or artisanal origin
  • Drones.
  • Lightweight motor vehicles, car and motorcycle engines, and frames
  • Air conditioners exceeding 2 tons or 24,000 BTU
  • Obscene Objects and Firearms

Other Products Regulated by Airlines and Customs:

  • Coffee
  • Nail monomers
  • Flammable products, aerosols, or items containing alcohol
  • Lithium batteries
  • Peroxide
  • Solvents and paints
  • Lighters and matches
