The Cuban government has once again extended the exemption from new regulations until January 31, 2025. Here are the key benefits of this extension:
Tax Exemption on Shipments Up to 20 kg:
For non-commercial air, sea, and postal shipments, importing up to 20 kg per package is allowed as long as the items consist of food, hygiene products, or medications.
Increased Limit to 500 Points:
The customs value for non-commercial imports has been raised to 500 USD for air, sea, and postal shipments.
Unaccompanied Luggage (ENA) Tax-Free up to 50 kg:
For those traveling to Cuba and wishing to send their belongings ahead of time, the Unaccompanied Luggage (ENA) option allows the import of up to 50 kg of food, hygiene products, and medications without paying customs taxes.
Continued Permission for Sending Generators:
In addition to the essential products mentioned, electric generators are also still allowed in non-commercial shipments.
30% Tax on Excess Over 3 kg:
If your shipment exceeds the 3 kg tax-free limit, you’ll only pay a 30% tax on the weight or value exceeding this limit. This benefit significantly reduces the cost of sending essential goods to Cuba.
